Being a child of the 1970's, my parents named me a popular name. David. In the late 1990's, when I was beginning to work/play online, I needed a screen name or handle and we had a Springer Spaniel named Chaucer. Chaucer had a white stuffed duck that he loved to play with. My wife and I made up a little game, where one of us would hide the duck from Chaucer. Then we would ask him, "Where's the duck? Where's the duck?" Chaucer would go crazy looking for his stuffed duck. And that is the reason, I use the screen name: whereduck.
